  • Can be subject to a complaints and disciplinary process if required as well as annual audits
  • Has meet the requirements for the Award of the AHT credential based on 100% assessable standards of practice and mentorship.

WHY CHOOSE A CHT?

  • A CHT, or Certified Hand Therapist, is a therapist who has earned a specialized certification by completing over 4,000 hours of upper-extremity treatment and passing a rigorous certification exam.
  • Being treated by a CHT assures patients of his or her therapist's advanced level of competency and professionalism, and extensive knowledge of intricate anatomy. In addition, a CHT has a mastery of the complexity of upper extremity surgeries and their treatment protocols.

About SATHISH KARUNANIDHI


Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist (USA) and Accredited Hand Therapist AHTA

Sathish graduated as an Occupational Therapist from the Tamil Nadu MGR University, Chennai, India in 2001 and completed a Master of Occupational Therapy (Musculoskeletal condition) from the Manipal University, India in 2004. He has worked as an Assistant Professor and Senior Occupational Therapist in India for three years. He moved to Australia and worked in Public hospitals and ran his own private hand therapy clinics in Hervey Bay for nine years. In 2015, Sathish was successful in completing the Hand Therapy Certification Exam (CHT) and was accepted as a Full Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHT).

Sathish has comprehensive experience clinically, in both in-and out patient hospital environments, as well as private practice settings ( Currently working in EKCO Hand therapy Brisbane since 2017). He specializes in treating a vast array of upper extremity diagnoses both conservatively and post-operatively, and is proficient in fabricating static and dynamic splints.

Sathish remains current with the latest developments in treatment techniques and new research findings by attending continuing education conferences and by reading professional publications. In order to provide the highest quality in patient care, Sathish maintains close contact and open communication with GPs, surgeons and M.D.s, working together to create a custom tailored plan of care for each patient.
